Great coffee pot/machine May 14, 2005 Salty (Oregon Southern Coast) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought it, to use on our boat.
It has a small footprint, for a 12 cup.
The coffee is great, and I like all the little adjustments, to make it your way.
It is one of the first, when you pour it, does not make a mess all over.
You can even set it, to how long, you would like the pot heater, to stay one.
A great coffee machine.
Best coffee maker I've ever had! July 7, 2005 Carole S. Scandrol (Flowery Branch, Ga.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It makes great coffee quickly, is very easy to clean, keeps it warm if you want. I set it up at night, and set it to brew so it's waiting for me when I walk into the kitchen first thing in the morning! I probably wouldn't have paid full price for it because I'm just too cheap! But this reconditioned one was exactly like a brand new one, except the warranty isn't as long. I recommend it to everyone!
Pretty nice at a really low price..... May 23, 2005 Jolly Gourmand 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
5/24 update: I tried a 6-cup pot and was presented with the same sour after-taste. This is not a good thing. Am likely going to run a few more pots through and then go back to my Hamilton-Beach (keeping this one as a backup). Am starting to wonder whether a 'bargain' maker, despite all the bells and whistles, is really a bargain if the coffee comes out sour.
(Original): That's why I have given it 5-Stars. One thing I do like about it is it's soft, end-of-brew chime. Purchasers should know that it takes the cone rather than basket filters. The warranty is 90-days. That is why I hastily packed up my thirty-odd-dollar Hamilton-Beach.
The first coffee tasted a bit more sour than usual. According to 'Cook's Illustrated', any coffee that takes longer than 6-minutes to brew is not good. On the other hand, Cook's Illustrated, unfortunately, sometimes caters to the nouveaux riche crowd. Neither this one nor my Hamilton-Beach will crank out a full pot of coffee in under 6-minutes, but both perform adequately for my purposes. Since I also don't use bottled water (suggested in the Cuisinart manual) or freshly-ground beans from Jamaica, I'm sure my coffee will always suffer by comparison with others. None-the-less, I am finding this product easy to use, with more bells and whistles than I really want, at a price that is lower than any other refurbished machine.
Great Coffee Maker August 9, 2005 Ron Kissam This is a well made device. Not one complaint. Excellent coffee.
pretty nice, then broke December 23, 2005 A. Weaver 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a great value and performed well, although you must be real diligent about closing the filter-basket until it clicks, otherwise it will pour hot coffee all over the place. But after about 100 days it's just started blowing steam and can't finish a pot of coffee anymore. Tomorrow I'll dissect it in the name of...tinkering...and buy a larger french press.
